A local college in Lancashire unveiled a memorial bench dedicated to a former student on Monday (October 14th).

Preston-based Myerscough College revealed the dedicated area on its golf course to mark the first anniversary of Ange Roscoe’s death.

The 26-year-old – who studied golf management at Myerscough, receiving an honours degree – passed away suddenly.

She was a student at the college between 2006 and 2009.

Friends and family travelled from all over the country to pay tribute to her on the fourth tee of the course.

Ange’s dad, John Roscoe, said: “I’d like to thank everyone for making it happen. Ange would have loved this and would have been proud of what’s been done.”

He added that she really enjoyed her time at the college and said that the fact so many people turned out for the ceremony meant “an awful lot” to him and his wife Pam, as well as Ange’s boyfriend Mark.

Myerscough College’s chaplain also read a tribute to the much-loved student, saying she was a “well respected person of importance” and that the bench would be a tribute from friends who hold her in “such high regard”.
