Previous students at Bradford College are being urged to sponsor it so more money can be brought in to supplement an expansion.
A state-of-the-art £50 million development is due to be finished next year, but the institute wants to supplement the project’s completion with a sponsorship from high-profile alumni so it can bolster its finances, according to the Bradford Telegraph and Argus.
Building works are on target to finish on time and bosses at the college hope a member of the royal family will cut the tape upon its opening.
Well-known alumni of Bradford College include artist David Hockney, composer Nick Parkin and political campaigner Alice Mahon.
Jain Camfield, head of marketing and corporate communication at the College, said: “We are looking to people to see if they want a long lasting relationship with the college. We could be looking at a glass wall or brick with someone’s name on.”
David Hockney already has a dedicated room at the establishment but bosses will hope he doubles down on his investment to help kids in the city to have a brighter future.
