Securing finance in the form of a student loan could be one way in which university goers ensure they are always able to pay the rent.
And it appears an inability to settle such costs is a widespread problem at present, with the National Debtline - which is run by the Money Advice Trust - revealing it has received an 84 per cent escalation in the number of callers in need of rental arrears assistance since 2007.
Joanna Elson, chief executive of the Money Advice Trust - a charity that was formed in 1991 - said it is clear that making such payments is becoming increasingly difficult for people across the UK, which may include those in higher education .
The industry figure added: "A few years ago many people in today's rent market would be planning on buying their first home, but now it seems they are struggling to even pay the rent."
