A law graduate has received the Resolution Prize after receiving the highest mark in the family law paper of any College of Law student . The prestigious award covers the colleges seven centres across the UK, and has been awarded to Jennifer Dumencic. The 23 year old obtained 96 per cent in her family law paper on the Legal Practice Course (LPC), having received a first class law degree from the University of Chester. She was given the inaugural award by the lawyers association on Friday. Ms Dumencic also received a £500 prize, and has already secured a training contract at Brighouse Wolff in Ormskirk.
Ms Dumencic, who also received awards for her performance in business law and litigation, voiced her delight at receiving the awards, claiming she had thoroughly enjoyed learning about family law. Resolutions national chairman, Nicholas Longford, praised Ms Dumencic, and lauded her as a hugely deserving winner.
The College of Law has expanded in recent years since winning the contract to develop firm-specific LPC courses for Allen and Overy, Clifford Chance and Linklaters. It has since becomes the first independent institution to hold degree awarding powers, and has opened new centres in Manchester and London.
